9A – Testing the Hypothesis, Part 2
In the previous assignments, I've identified a potential market with foreigners and their inability to understand how to use their technological products. I conducted interviews and tried to gauge their interest in this potential market and try to give them an understanding with my product. I reached a genuine consensus that there is a market for my product. I've again interviewed 5 different people for this assignment. This time, I've conducted interviews with people that I think are outside the boundary of my product. These people, from what I've concluded, are tech-savvy millennials who understand how to use their technological products. I've asked them multiple questions regarding the product and whether they think there's a need for it. They've conceded that there is, but also bring up the genuine question whether this product will be able to succeed given the companies that already offer this type of support. Best Buy and Apple are the two big companies that offer this type of support. I tried explaining to them that this is a more comfortable and reliable product that doesn't include multiple time payments. This is an app that you constantly have on you and don't have to rely on driving to the store and waiting on an appointment. For this reason, I believe we have a genuine advantage over these companies. I've included the who, what, and why regarding my product and its boundaries below.

Jordan,
ReplyDeleteSo far it seems like you are on the right track for the assignment. I can see how the millennials that have a knowledge of the tech and are young enough to pick up on it quickly would not need your program. I also like that your chart explicitly states the other options that people outside the boundary have. I think that you identified some potential competitors to your program. Overall this is a good post and I think that you did a good job narrowing the market for your service.
Dear Jordan, I am still confused about your intended audience. You say that the people you are trying to reach are international individuals who struggle to understand technology. However most of the foreign students I know have been exposed to the same technology we have in the United States and are just as adept with technology as I am. Also, I am confused on how your audience would learn how to use an app to learn technology if ability to access technology is their problem in the first place.
