18A – Create a Customer Avatar

Image
In my mind, the prototypical customer for my business is a foreigner in his mid 20s or 30s. In my eyes, this foreigner is of middle eastern descent, because I came up with this product based off my family, who all happen to be of middle eastern descent. My prototypical customer works long hours either in school or in his job and doesn't have that much time to do any activities of leisure. This is based off my dad coming to America to study law school. Because of this, I don't think my prototypical customer has enough time to do any activities that he/she likes. I also believe that my prototypical customer drives a fuel-efficient car to help the environment. This is not only a cheap alternative for my prototypical customer but it also helps improve their environmental footprint. I believe my prototypical customer has kids. Families usually are the ones that find themselves with the most technology, and the younger generations are usually the ones that know more about technology ...

16A –What’s Your Secret Sauce?

1)    I feel like my organizational qualities make me distinguished amongst my peers. I feel like these qualities make me a leader because I'm able to lay out my priorities and accomplish them all in a timely manner. I feel that this makes me more mature than people my age. I feel like I'm a great leader because I put others in front of me. I'm very utilitarian in this aspect because I feel like I'm most of the time not in the majority when it comes to these decisions, but regardless I go through with the majority decision because I put others in front of me. I feel like I'm very creative in my decision making process. I feel like instead of trying to take the easy or the simple way out of a problem, I find myself find myself being attracted to the more complex solution in order to solve my problems. I feel like I'm a very good multi-tasker. This helps with my efficiency and puts me ahead of the pack amongst my peers because I'm able to efficiently do ...

15A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2

For this assignment, I interviewed three of my friends at the University of Florida. In all three interviews, I've tried to determine the interviewees buyer behavior. I started by asking what is the determining factors in making a purchase. Two of the interviewees determined that quality is the determining factors, while the other interviewee said that price is the determining factor. The two interviewees that said that quality is the determining factor said that when three items of similar pricing are very close to each other in price, they choose the product that they think is of the highest quality. The other interviewee said that no matter what 90% of the time he goes for the cheapest option. This is because he pays for things on his own budget. The interviewees that stated that they buy things of the highest quality found that most of the time they purchase things in the store, while the interviewee that buys things off the price stated that they usually find themselves b...

14A – Halfway Reflection

Image
1) I've developed an incredibly organizational mentality to keep up with the requirements of this course. There is a lot of work involved to succeed in this course. When it comes to keeping track of lectures, taking notes, and completing the assignments and the cupcakes, it takes great organizational ability to succeed. This course isn't incredibility difficult per se, but it will be if you don't know how to organize yourself and manage your time. I feel like this type of behavior that I've developed will not only help me with the duration of this course, but also for my life after college where it will be even more essential to use. 2) The most prime moment where I felt like giving up was my senior year in high school playing for the basketball team. I was told in the beginning of the year by the coach that I wasn't going to get minutes to start the year. Having started the first 3 years of college, this was a pill that was extremely hard to swallow. I took over...

13A – Reading Reflection No. 1

In this assignment, I will be talking about Phil Knight, the co-founder of Nike, and his memoir Shoe Dog . Not only have I read this book previously, but I've also watched countless documentaries on Phil Knight, so I know a lot about him. What surprised me most about Phil Knight was how normal he looked to me. He didn't seem like anything out of the ordinary when he first started Nike, but rather he was a normal person that could've been anyone. What I most admired about Phil was his creativity. The fact that he created the Nike shoe design by looking at waffles and putting it to the bottom of shoes was something that I thought was extraordinary. Also, I loved how Phil Knight never gave up. Whatever adversity he faced he came through with an open mind. In his book, he was quoted saying "“I’ve had a lot of people tell me, ‘We ... think he’s not going to make it." But Phil knew that he had a successful vision and a strategy so he never gave up. As I've said prev...

12A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 1

I interviewed 3 people for this assignment. The first two people did not have a need for my product. These two people were similar to me, 21 year old college students at different schools around the country. While this didn't lead me to obtain any information for this assignment, this led me to believe how small my target audience really is. For my product to succeed, it will have to dominate my target audience because it doesn't really expand to all age levels yet. The 3rd person I interviewed gave me all the information I needed for this assignment. My dad's lifelong friend, a 48 year old who moved to America from Israel 27 years ago, has a need for my product. His need becomes most evident when he's put in a situation where he finds himself most uncomfortable. This could be when he's at home, at work, or even with friends. When he's at home and needs to use technology to show his friends, he becomes uncomfortable. When he's at work and he needs to show a ...
