18A – Create a Customer Avatar
In my mind, the prototypical customer for my business is a foreigner in his mid 20s or 30s. In my eyes, this foreigner is of middle eastern descent, because I came up with this product based off my family, who all happen to be of middle eastern descent. My prototypical customer works long hours either in school or in his job and doesn't have that much time to do any activities of leisure. This is based off my dad coming to America to study law school. Because of this, I don't think my prototypical customer has enough time to do any activities that he/she likes. I also believe that my prototypical customer drives a fuel-efficient car to help the environment. This is not only a cheap alternative for my prototypical customer but it also helps improve their environmental footprint. I believe my prototypical customer has kids. Families usually are the ones that find themselves with the most technology, and the younger generations are usually the ones that know more about technology than the parents in times like these were technology is so important.
I feel like the thing I have most in common with my prototypical customer is the desire to improve myself. Whether that to be improving in a skill like basketball, improving my understanding in a culture or a language, or improving my technological understanding, we're all similar in this regard. I think this is common in any human being, not just with me and the prototypical customer. Everyone has the will and the desire to improve. It's what makes us humans. Having this attribute as an entrepreneur is an invaluable skill that will help us improve on our mistakes and hopefully deliver the best end-product possible. This is done through hard work and perseverance. And this is what I hope my prototypical customer and I have in common.

Jordan,
ReplyDeleteThis is a great post explaining your avatar. I thought that you explained all of the details about the avatar very effectively and I like your creativity. Also you did a good job explaining why you thought about it the way that you did. Good work following through creating the avatar to have a visual as well.
Dear Jordan, I like the specificity with which you describe your ideal customer. Using a young adult is nice because you are also around that same age and are able to easily relate to him, as you walk much of the day in the same shoes, so to speak. The avatar is also really cool. I agree that preserverence is a key ingredient to succeed in entrepreneurship
