19A – Idea Napkin No. 2

1) My name is Jordan Rich. I'm from Los Angeles, California.  I am a 21 year old student at the University of Florida studying business and real estate. I am good at socializing, making people laugh, basketball, and video games. I also pride myself on my leadership and organizational skills. My aspirations include success in the real estate world, traveling the world, understanding new culture, and helping others. I feel like this business would play a heavy role in my life because of my aspirations to help others.  I feel like this business can help hundreds of thousands of people.
2)  I am offering a way to further integrate yourselves with technology. I am offering a way to involve yourself in the technological world further than foreigners could've ever imagined. The product is an app on all platforms that will allow you to learn technological products of your choosing on your own schedule. The program will be available in all languages to give people a chance to learn their new country's language.
3)  I am offering my product to recently immigrated foreigners in a new country. I'm also offering my product to people of old age who don't understand how to use the technology they own. The main thing these two groups have in common is that they don't know how to use their products for different external reasons. Whether it be a job or other priorities in life, these people don't have the time to take their product to the limit in terms of their understanding with it.
4) These groups of people should care for a number of reasons. For one, my product will allow the older generations of people to communicate more with the younger generations of the world. With the younger generations using technology more and more, the older generations are being phased out of society. Most importantly, I believe that my product will allow people to be more attractive from an employment perspective. Not understanding technology in today's day and age will immediately get you disqualified for over half the job's available in today's market. This product will hopefully get those people over the hump.
5) I have true real life experience of who this product is suited for. Growing up as a first generation American, and also living in a country for 4 months abroad where I didn't know the language I can understand how this product will work and who needs. My entire family is from the middle east, and most of them are deficient in knowing the advanced skills required for using technology.
Feedback
  • The main feedback I got with my last idea napkin assignment was to not limit my potential work environments to just Los Angeles. To expand and have a bigger picture idea for a business idea like this as an entrepreneurship will allow me to expand all my options
  • Another piece of feedback I got was to not be so broad when talking about the specifics of my product. To talk about my product in short simple statements will show that I'm confident in my product and the impact that it will have.

  1. Hey Jordan, I think you did an excellent job of incorporating the feedback you received from last time into this post. You really took time to go over your idea and see ways to improve and work on it. I agree completely with your statement of "old people being phased out of society". It gets harder and harder for my grandparents, who are native English speakers, to stay in touch with technology, so I could not imagine how challenging it could be for non-native English speakers. Great job!

  2. Dear Jordan, I would like to ask a follow up question in response to your first paragraph- What video games are you good at? Are you good at the classic ones like call of duty, or do you mean Nintendo games such as Mario Party and super smash brothers Ultimate? Do you play fortnite? If so, what is your favorite skin? Mine is the Renegade Raider. Also, what console to you game on? Do you use the wii, or the play station, or even a PC for the ultimate gaming efficiency? As well, I would like to know more about why you game so much? Do you enjoy doing it in your off time, or do you do it competitively? Look forward to hearing your response,
    -Nick
