23A – Your Venture’s Unfair Advantage

My Business Idea deals with a Teaching tool application for those who want to be more Proficient at understanding Technology
  1. Connection with a Photographer

    This resource is valuable because it would give me a good way to advertise my product. I can advertise my product in a beneficial way to attract more consumers if the pictures are taken by a professional on my website.
  2. Ability to create websites

    I feel like I have a great skill in technology. My ability to create a website would be supremely beneficial to me because I would not have to spend any additional funds on an outsider to build my website. The ability to build my own website would also be valuable because I would know best what needs to be put in it.
  3. Skill to teach others

    I pride myself on my ability to teach others greatly. I feel like this is an extremely valuable skill with my business idea since it revolves around teaching others how to be more proficient at technology. If I'm able to do this in an effective manner, my business idea will be a success.
  4. Technological Knowledge

    I consider myself to be very skilled in the field of technology. I feel like this is especially beneficial and valuable in a business idea like this that is completely surrounded on teaching others on how to demonstrate a superior understanding of technology.
  5. Skill to Lead Others

    I pride myself heavily on my ability to lead others. I prefer being a leader much more than I prefer being a follower. I think this is very important in a startup when you need a team of people surrounding you giving you advice.
  6. Middle-Eastern Background

    My product's prototypical customer is to foreigners who have just recently immigrated to America. Because of this, I feel like my middle-eastern background is a huge advantage to contribute to my business idea because I know the what these customers specifically like.
  7. Fluent in English and Hebrew

    As I've said previously, my product's prototypical customer is to foreigners who have just recently immigrated to America. I plan to target middle eastern foreigners because that is the inspiration behind my business idea. Thus, I find it extremely valuable that I can speak the native language of Israel fluently, so the customers will feel more comfortable.
  8. Connections with the University of Florida

    Having a networking background at the University of Florida can be seen as a huge positive in the event where I need financial backing. This is not only a special resource, but a significantly valuable one, considering how often entrepreneur's ideas fall flat due to a lack of funds.
  9. Organized

    I take pride in the fact that I'm very organized. I can also multi-task very efficiently. I consider this to be a very valuable resource considering how often entrepreneurs have to multitask to accomplish their goals.
  10. Connections with Los Angeles, Miami, and New York Communities

    I'm from the Los Angeles Area, and because I go to the University of Florida, I have great connections with people from the South Florida and New York areas. I feel like this is an especially valuable resource in the case that I want to expand my business idea. 
I think my technological knowledge is my best resource. Because of the fact that my business idea is centered around technology, I consider this to be my most valuable resource. I think I'm highly skilled at every technological product that my business idea is focused around, and because of this, I find this to be my most valuable resource.

    Hello Jordan,
    As you may know, we share a similar venture of teaching technology to others. I, too, also share your similar resource of coming from a foreign background, thus, shaping our ventures in the course. We seem to both agree that having the skills to teach in necessary to partake in this business. As students, I believe that human capital and capabilities are our strongest resources since we generally do not a strong financial hold.

    This is a well thought out post that has good information regarding the potential resources you may have for your venture moving forward. I think that your skill level with technology is a huge resource to be considered as you move forward and I think you rightly chose that as your biggest resource. Additionally, your experience in different cultures and languages is an awesome resource that you have and something that you could most definitely use in the future as well.

    This is a great post. Your service seems to be very helpful, especially for older people or ones who are slow to change. I think you have great resouces to use and connections as well. Being part of the University of Florida community really helps and I agree that all the people here can be utilized for up and coming businesses.

1) I've developed an incredibly organizational mentality to keep up with the requirements of this course. There is a lot of work involved to succeed in this course. 26A – Celebrating Failure

1) This past semester, I was playing in a basketball game in our intramural league. Having played varsity basketball in high school, I consider myself to be a very good player. Anyways, in a game where we were down by 1, I missed two free throws that could've potentially won us the game. This is not the first time this has happened. I've never been that good of a free throw shooter, even with multiple hours put in of practice. I've had this exact scenario happen to me twice in my life before it happened again this semester. The other two times this has happened was once during a league game and once during a game for my high school in a tournament. 2) Even though this has happened to me three times in my life already, there is something I can learn from this.
