30A - Final Reflection

1. Experiences
  1. The most formative experience I've had in this class is coming up with my business idea. I was slumped on this for several hours and when I finally came up with it and it appealed to me and I was excited to write about it it truly resonated with me. This business idea will be with me for several years, and hopefully I'm able to capitalize on it.
  2. The most joyous experience I got was interviewing friends and family on my business venture. To be able to share my idea and hear their thoughts along with their praise on it truly made me happy that I was able to create an idea that others liked.
  3. The experience that I'm most proud of is my venture concept #1. I thought I did a great job on this assignment. Reading through the comments through the other students in the class on my assignment and their positivity really made me happy.
2. Entrepreneur?
  1. I've always thought of myself as an entrepreneur. As a kid, I used to sell basketball cards during recess at school. I also used to buy and sell video games on eBay and make a pretty good amount of profit on them. This class not only confirmed my self identification as an entrepreneur, but it taught me so much on how to think and act like an entrepreneur. It's not enough to want to be successful, but you also need to think in a way that will allow success to come to you. This class has taught me this and more.

3. Recommendation
  1. My one major recommendation would be for students to take this class if you're interested in becoming an entrepreneur. If you don't have an entrepreneurial mindset, most of the assignments in this class will feel like a chore. However, if you aspire to be an entrepreneur, you will find that all of the assignments in this class build up to each other and teach you a special lesson on how to think and act like an entrepreneur. Another piece of advice I would offer to students is to stay on top of the assignments in this class along with the peer reviews. They can easily sneak up on you and if you take them in stride rather than struggle to do them they will be much easier. Fostering the mindset of an entrepreneur is the key to succeeding in this course.

  1. Dear Jordan,
I enjoyed reading about the assignments that meant the most for you. I think its really interesting that the assignment that was the most formative was one that was so frustrating for you. I think it demonstrates you resilience, as well as your patience in coming up with a good idea. I remember your first venture concept, so I was happy to see that was the assignment you were most proud of. Also, I like the illustration you chose because it demonstrates how you think outside the box.
